As part of Colenso’s campaign for the Yellow Pages, we were briefed to design the packaging, bar mould and POS material for ‘Yellow Chocolate’. The brief from the client, a regular guy named Josh, was simply “I’ve got 2 weeks to make it happen – and it has to appeal to everyone!” We embraced the absurdness of yellow chocolate and created a look that played up the magical, playful nature of the idea. The result? The chocolate sold out in 10 days and became a collector’s item on Trademe, and the campaign was awarded the Grand Axis, the Titanium gold Axis and the Integrated gold Axis at the 2011 CAANZ Axis awards.
